Hi, I’m Konrad Bocian, an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology in Sopot, SWPS University. My work focuses on moral, social, and marketing psychology, with a particular interest in how people form moral judgments—both about themselves and others. I study biases in moral reasoning, moral development, and moral conformity, aiming to understand the psychological mechanisms that shape our ethical decisions.
I teach moral psychology, helping students explore the complexities of human behavior and decision-making. Beyond teaching, I contribute to the academic community as an Associate Editor at Social Psychological Bulletin and European Journal of Social Psychology.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to receive several research grants, including:
OPUS Grant (2018/29/B/HS6/00658) from the Polish National Science Centre (NCN), supporting my research on moral character judgments.
SONATA Grant (2021/43/D/HS6/02013) from NCN, funding my work on egocentric judgments of moral character: mechanisms, individual differences, and debiasing strategies.
Seedcorn Grant from the European Association of Social Psychology (EASP) for my research on judgments and moral character, in collaboration with the Kent Moral Psychology Group at the University of Kent.
MINIATURA 2 Grant (2018/02/X/HS6/02164) from NCN, supporting my research on moral conformity in digital environments.
My contributions to psychological research have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including:
Scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science, acknowledging my work in psychology.
Mieczysław Bekker Program Scholarship from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), supporting international research collaborations.
Robert Zajonc Award from the Polish Society of Social Psychology (PSPS), recognizing outstanding achievements in social psychology.
